Confused...

I stumbled upon this pic in the popular section and I am confused whether one calls it a copying or actualy an 'inspired' artwork?
The picture is this [link] vs. the picture similar from a gaming website [link] ? Looking at the one from DA there are very subtle similarities between the two, like the shoulder postions and the face looking down on the viewer...I mean is this an artisticly inspired creation or simple tracing?

Egad, don't know how you found it, but nice find.
Being quite similar, if the game illustrator saw it he/she wouldn't be happy, unless the da person had written 'it was inspired by....', THEN it wouldn't be treated as a copy, I reckon. Unless it's a freaky coincidence (it can happen...there's a lot of blue-eyed blonde handsome wizard character illustrations out there).

Instead of spamming everyone's comments with your link, why not keep it in your journal and/or post it in the forums?

I see the similarities and if that's where this person got the idea, then yes it deserves to be credited, but please don't involve those of us that commented. It's annoying.
